Conditional Dismissal Program: Can I get a disorderly conduct or petty disorderly offense dismissed in New Jersey?

Project Description

Have you been charged with a disorderly conduct offense or a petty disorderly offense in Princeton, New Brunswick, or anywhere else in the state of New Jersey?

For the first time, an individual may now be able to earn a dismissal of disorderly persons or petty disorderly offense in Municipal Court due to a law signed by Governor Chris Christie last year. As of January of 2014, a law went into effect allowing for certain defendants to apply for a diversionary program called the Conditional Dismissal Program. Before the enactment of this program, no such opportunity existed for this level of non-drug related criminal matters.

If you find yourself charged with a criminal charge in Municipal Court, and have had no trouble before, you will want to consider the possibility of applying for this program. The types of offenses range from being visibly intoxicated in public to loitering and more.

If you are admitted into, and successfully complete the program, you will earn a dismissal of the offenses with which you have been charged. This gives me as a lawyer, a powerful and valuable weapon that I may use to protect your record, if we cannot effectively defend the charges on their merits.

For more details, you can download this 13 page PDF provided by the New Jersey state government. You can also call our Travisano Law Office for help interpreting this document, and to discuss if the Conditional Dismissal Program is an option for your cited offense.
